23. "All-SEC championship validates league but irritates many"

Alabama linebacker points out:
"That's the whole reason they got rid of the BCS was to eliminate the all-SEC championship," Mosley said, "but again the SEC prevails."

The league celebrates itself like no other, and that irritates fans of teams in other conferences. There's no denying the domination of the SEC, though. Conference teams have played for the college football national championship in 12 of the last 15 years. With this latest all-SEC championship, a conference member will celebrate a national championship for the 10th time during that run.

The SEC has shaped the modern era of college football like no other conference, and an All-SEC national championship in the College Football Playoff is just the next step in the sport's evolution. The last time two SEC teams met in the championship game -- the 2011 BCS national championship -- college football decided to form a playoff. What's next? For now, just more gnashing of the teeth from the Big Ten, which was left out of the College Football Playoff completely only to go 7-1 in the bowls.
