11. I read that home teams decide on the fake crowd noise

This was in The News Tribune. They said the NFL said you can pipe in fake noise if there are no fans and there's an upper limit to the volume. The Seahawks originally thought they'd go loud to try to re-create the usual home game experience, but the catch is the NFL both set an upper limit and decreed that the level cannot vary during the game (so you cannot crank it up when you're on defense and turn it down on offense).

They ultimately decided they'd go with a low-level sound that the reporter likened to the sound of traffic on I-5
