Fans loved NBC election guru Steve Kornacki breaking down the NFL playoff on 'Sunday Night Football' [View all]

Late last week NBC announced that MSNBC election-week star Steve Kornacki would appear on the “Sunday Night Football” pregame and halftime shows to break down the NFL playoff picture much like how he broke down the live results of the presidential election last month.

You know what? It was actually really good.

I have to admit that I was skeptical of this move at first, as it felt like it would be a forced bit by a big network trying to bring back its breakout star from the election coverage.

But the dude in the khakis crushed it Sunday night.

His breakdowns of how certain teams like the Giants saw their playoff chances rise by percentage points on Sunday was really informative and different and good.

Mr. Statistics: MSNBC's Steve Kornacki heads to the big board to look at the latest NFL playoff odds after a busy Sunday of action in Week 13 of the NFL season.
