We did have one sheep that was very intelligent, but she always stayed with the goats and didn't follow the rest of the herd. In general, the bottle fed sheep seemed to be smarter. It seemed as if they turned off their brains when they went into herd mode. The ram we had was bottle fed and he with sneak up behind perfect strangers to suck on their fingers. That really freaks some people out. He would also demand to have his head scratched. He would trap my mother in the field and push her over if she stopped scratching his head until my bother or I came around to chase him off.

Me again
YAY Grettle!!!! my experience though very limited compared to yours and Mr Howlers is that all the animals I've ever observed are senteint (spelling and pronounciation).sigh.
