A wet end to a very wet year. [View all]

I have a weather station attached to my garage that records all sorts of information about temperature, humidity, wind speed and direction, and rainfall.
I can see the daily, weekly, monthly and yearly rainfall information, and the weather station is also connected to the Weather Channel's weather underground.
Anyway, I recorded 60.6 inches of rain for the year 2023 at my house, and 8.8 inches for the month of December.
These are amazingly high values; Chester, NY normally gets about 44 inches of rain for a year.
So we were over 16 inches above normal, and actually got water in our basement once in December. This usually only happens when we have a hurricane or tropical storm pass by.

Does anyone else have any interesting 2023 weather stories or information you want to share from where you live?
