15. Think it was the sports maybe more than the boycott

The boycott was effective but NC lost the NCAA basketball championships. Home of Duke and the Univ of North Carolina, that is a very big deal in this state. NC also lost the NBA All Star Game.

The boycott is estimated to have cost the state millions of dollars, so that cannot be ignored.
