I took all kinds of pills for about 7 years. They all made me sick. I finally asked the doc to just give me insulin as I felt that was a more natural way than beating the hell out of my pancreas with pills. Last A1C was 7.2 which is not bad for a 75-yr-old. Have been diabetic for 26 years now. I limit my biggest meal of the day to 60 carbs. I eat about 130 carbs per day. Not fun but what can you do? It is a lousy disease to have. Keep at it. I have found that a Diabetes Educator can be more helpful than the doc in some cases. You can live with this disease. You just have to learn how. My best wishes for you.
