they can't even pretend there's a legitimate basis for these contributions.

"currying favor" is the polite way to say they are paying in an effort to corruptly influence the government.

inaugural contributions have always been dodgy, but the scale is now such that it's impossible to say it's anything but a corrupt payment.

and this go-round, donnie has been pretty explicit on the shakedown side of things. these aren't just businesses looking to bribe, this is also donnie already abusing his power to hit up companies for money, he's basically said that companies who don't contribute enough will be treated adversely under his administration.

entirely corrupt.
