3. My teacher during my junior year was extremely tough.

I rounded up to a 90 average (A-) for three consecutive six-week periods and made an 88 on the final to round up to a 90 for the semester. I've always felt like I was a "B" student as far as I'm concerned.

My senior year was quite different when I averaged a 96 in the class. During one six-week period the teacher had us sign a contract to commit to reading a certain number of books. I found a flaw in the contract such that it was ambiguous and argued my point. The teacher realized her error and she had to correct the grades for all three classes of senior English so that 30 out of 70 students received higher grades. I was the hero of the class and illustrated the point that contracts better be iron-clad, especially when written by an English teacher.
