As practiced by the now defunct Roman Empire. And the Dutch in Indonesia and South Africa. And the British in India.

Simple process - pick a spot with natural resources, declare you will take it over, send in the troops, subjugate the native populations, rape the natural resources.

Trump has his eye on the Panama Canal, Greenland, and Gaza. Mexico and Canada are on the 'I want that too' list.

Shame Trump hasn't learnt from history, attempts at global colonization tends to fizzle out at some stage.
The ancient Roman Empire disintegrated under the burden of maintaining a presence in so many countries.
