39. I agree the sky has not fallen but

the patient is very ill and appears to be suffering from a chronic disease given a second term. We have to see what the consequences of continuing illness means for the patient.

If the defense nominee creature gets in, we are in definite danger. With a state department being gutted and if the defense department goes full clown car and our allies are treated like dirt, it will get very lonely should an international crisis occur. We were “lucky” that TSF only had to deal with a pandemic the first term. Now, with the world infinitely less stable and the richest man in the world going full Nazi, we will not be as lucky.

Americans often forget that in the real world countries compete for the best brains, the best economy and the best military. We are in competition and our spot at the top is not guaranteed. I fear TSF is starting a new brain drain that will only weaken us given how Americans don’t value education or health science quality anymore. The growth of conspiracy bull crap is also a symptom of a major disease. We are losing any ability to recognize basic facts.

Yet I agree that he does not have a mandate but we do need the fierce sense of urgency or the sky will fall.
