...and like I counseled my wife, the idea right now is to get folks riled as we can, and then hopefully activate the public to oppose these things. It can fray the nerves, so you need a thick shell for these times.

Angst is understandable, but eye on the ball. The fight is everything, and amplifying everything the Trump republicans are doing is the game today, voting on legislation comes later.

We're looking to knock off a handful of republican votes on important legislation, in both houses where we're in the minority. It's going to be worrying, and we will lose some of these fights in this Congress, but the fight is everything right now. That means talkng, writing, amplifying both republican faults and our own positions and views.

We lost the political fight in the election, so we have ground to make up, and it isn't going to be comfortable or pretty. No time for despair, time for an uptick activism and advocacy. Midterm elections begin today.
