In reply to the discussion: Netanyahu rises to Elon Musk's defense after X owner accused of performing Nazi salute [View all]Mosby
(18,007 posts)66. So building houses and apts makes you ultra right wing.
Let me ask you something, are the Navajo ultra-nationalists? Can you become a member of the Navajo Nation? No? Why not? Are they racists?
Israel is an ethnostate just like every Native American and First People's Nation in the US and Canada. They have rights, codified in the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples² to live in their ancestral homelands. Read it.
While I might strenously disagree with most of the settlers values and opinions, as Jews they have every right to live in their ancestral homelands, including in the "West Bank".
This is Yair Rosenberg, who writes for the Atlantic, spelling out the problems with the Israeli Supreme court:
Put crudely, the reasonableness doctrine is a subjective standard that has allowed Israels justices to substitute their own considerations for the legislatures when assessing the merits of certain government actions and civil-service appointments. Given that the members of Israels Supreme Court are appointed by a panel composed mostly of other judges and lawyers, a credible case exists for restraining this capacity, which lacks democratic accountability.¹
Did you get that? The judges do whatever the fuck they want, that's not how a democracy is supposed to work.

OP
Even of he were to shove a Jew in an oven, it would simply be construed as an "awkward gesture."

I know about the "Jordan is Palestine" slogan and its provenance and purpose. It's disingenuous.

And? Right-wing doesn't equate to NAZI!#! It's just laziness and requires no thought. A cop out.

No clue what you are on about m8. I never called Netanyahu a Nazi nor did I say simply being RW equates to being a Nazi.
