54. I've never seen pointing out someone's errors to change them.

What actually does work is to seek consensus with them. There will be some areas, however small, that we will share. That give a foundation to build on.

Exploring the common strengthens and grows a real relationship. Next, is the hardest part, draw them to speak of their opinions on life and family. You listen carefully every now and then repeat back what they said that is troublesome. "You said (bla bla bla). Tell me more.

This does 2 things, shows you actually heard them and they are confirmed that they said it. By asking for more they have to leave opinion moving to why.

The whole point is to be non-confrontational. And in the early stages stay clear of the hottest topics. Save that for later. 1st build a relationship built on commonality.
