"... the current planes (2 AF1 planes) are not up to the standard of those used by other world leaders."

Who kidding who?
None of the other world leaders, have anything close to what the 40 year old AF1 provides.

Article states that the 2 new AF1 being built, will not be available until 2027.
These planes have to be able to withstand an Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) attack.
This is a massive electronic pulse that can knock out all electrical equipment.
To make AF1 capable of withstanding an EMP attack would mean that all the wires have to be shielded.
A plane flying, hit by an EMP, would fall out of the sky, without this shielding.
You think the Q-AF1 would have this capability?
Not for $400M. The 2 AF1's on order, that won't be ready until 2027, will cost $1.95B (yes billion) each.

When we receive the Q-AF1, it would have to be retrofitted with all the counter measures that the 2 we ordered have.
Guess what? I'm betting that the Q-AF1, will not be able to fly during Mierda47's term in office.
The 2 that are on order, will be available before the Q-AF1 is ready to fly to our standards.
