"yeah, but Democrat X (insert some messed up false equivalency here)!"
For example, I remember arguing with Republican's in the late 90's about the crimes of Reagan during the Iran-Contra Affair, and it was almost always met with "Yeah, but Clinton had sex with an intern!". Now honest, intelligent people could discern the difference, but we are not talking about those, we are talking about Republicans.
Still worth a try though.
