In reply to the discussion: Trump's shoe fetish...he's "gifting" $145 Florsheims that he "expects recipients to wear in his presence" [View all]underpants
(196,091 posts)35. I haven't worn a pair of laced up shoes in probably 20 years
I have a pair of brown and black Eastlands. Slip on leather polishable. The only laced shoes I wear are running or tennis shoes but most of those are permanently tied.
I think I still have a box of chlorofram laced shoes from my Army days in a box in my closet. This are permanently shined for dress uniform events which were very rare.
Yes dress sneakers are all the rage now. If I wore a full suit everyday and could get away with it Id think about it. The Eastlands go from jeans to suit just fine and are very comfortable and last.

I bought a pair Sketcher sandals in 2024. Comfy. I wear extra wide and I tried these things on at one of those

Think of all the books we'll get from "journalists" who saw it all happen--and said nothing at the time.

Donny probably isn't going to any great lengths to give recipients the correct size.

I have been noticing that men are wearing more comfortable shoes with their suits. I think it's a good trend.

I'm guessing Trump is pushing Florsheim Shoes because he's invested money in Weyco Group.

It's a loyalty demonstration. The true innies wear the shoes immediately and daily.

There was some rich old lady down south that made all the "help" wear jester costumes, gardeners, and so on.

Another joked: "It's hysterical because everybody's afraid not to wear them."

The only people being treated thusly are people who deserve to be treated thusly.

That's how they get with ALZ, fixating on weird things, especially on floors. Brain stuck in a loop.

He had to go with Florsheim because they don't make Buster Browns anymore.
