Stopped nursing home today with Dunc the golden. [View all]
Visited my mother her new roommate lit up when she met Dunc the golden retriever. These ladies are dementia patients on that wing and strolling down hallway we always do the meet and greets people in hallway Nurses to residents and their smiles are worth it.
Yet my mom’s roommate just was so involved animated smiling giggling hanging with the golden chonk.
Dunc jumped up on the roommates bed and stretched out as this tiny woman sat on the edge of bed rubbing him.
Dude was totally into the attention he fell asleep yet I’ve never saw this lady so alert in previous perhaps two visits even with Dunc since she’s come to the wing.
It made me happy too see this woman having a good time and in her early stages of dementia and dementia is a bitch yet today she was aware alert.
And then leaving the lunch cart came past us in the hallway that got furry dudes attention nose sniffing the lady pushing cart asked if dude wanted to help her pass out chow.
