6. I'm still in therapy for all the years of my own stuff I carried when they were growing up...

So I take a considerable amt of the blame, I'm sure. But my Parents were also a big part of my kids' lives and they didn't put up with attitude or bullshit, and by the end, they had really lost their filters for any politness about it. When he was a teen, my Dad laid into him more than once and it pissed him off but he had no comeback. Now he idolizes the man, but still had so much to learn about how to act like him. (not that my dad was perfect, but he had a TON more discipline in his little finger!)
