(1,917 posts)My defense is that my son has been endlessly recounting to me (for 15 minutes) how he’s spent his day trying to find an old version of some video editing thingie that will still work, and my brain is apparently mush.
He finally relented when I burst out laughing because he gave me a flashback to an old Steve Martin joke:
"This lawn supervisor was out on a sprinkler maintenance job, and he started working on a Findley sprinkler head with a Langstrom 7 inch gangly wrench. Well, his little apprentice leans over and says 'you can't work on a Findley sprinkler head with a Langstrom 7 inch wrench'. Well, this infuriated the supervisor so he went and got volume 14 of the Kinsley manual. And he said 'look right here it says the Langstrom 7 inch wrench can be used with a Findley sprocket!' Just then the little apprentice leaned over and said 'it says socket not sprocket."
