Byrd(D-WV) was 89 years old when he last ran for re-election(2006). [View all]

Byrd passed away in 2010.
Grassley(R-IA) is the same age as Byrd. I don’t expect Grassley to complete his next term. Grandson Pat gets appointed and will run in the special election.

Leahy(D-VT) has been in the US Senate for 8 terms.
He is 81 years old. He is probably going to serve 1 or 2 more terms, 3 more terms if he wants to be in the US Senate when he is reaching 100 years old.

If Biden had not been selected as Obama’s VP in 2008, He would still be serving in the US Senate.
He’d get re-elected in 2014,2020,2026,and 2032.
11 terms.
