5. Not true. I was a moderate voter who never voted single party for years until the repugs made

it impossible to find a decent one. I carefully examined the two candidates for not only their beliefs but their ability to accomplish them. Starry-eyed is okay but Starry-minded will not help. In those days, a good republican could accomplish more good than a bad democratic candidate who would vote against good policies because they didn't go as far as he/she fantasized.
Remember, those were also the days of the dixiecrats. Now that the repugs have turned away from democracy, it's a different story.

I will concede that these days, there's no such creature that can be considered moderate who supports candidates of both parties unless one thinks that voting for nazis is the same as voting for democracy.
