She's won multiple Hugo and Nebula and Locus awards.

The Vorkosigen series, mentioned about is her science fiction series. She also has a couple of fantasy series, one starting with _The Curse of Chalion_ and the other with _The Sharing Knife_. I've read each of the first books in those series, but haven't been immediately drawn to read the rest--I liked them well enough, I just have plenty of others in the queue. Maybe if I end up with audiobooks for them some day then I'll listen on a trip.

The Vorkosigen series, though, I like a lot. Miles, the primary character is physically challenged but finds was for brains and chutzpah to become a force in his universe. Some is really funny, some is really sad. Just nice.
