19. It is going to get worse.

This was in The Forward and pretty much sums up what Jews on the left are feeling/experiencing from a side that is supposed to support minorities: Jews at Tufts are furious over ICE seizing a pro-Palestinian grad student. But they’re wary of joining protests for her.

More and more, Jews are getting the reminder, we aren't American Jews or Jewish Americans, we are Jews living in America. Anti-Semitism is ignored or scoffed at (in best case scenarios) or defended and promoted. BOTH sides are doing it, BOTH sides (almost always) ONLY call out the OTHER side and deny anti-Semitism exists on THEIR side. It is literally a pinscher moment for many Jews. Groups and issues which are liberal are pushing out Jews and dividing up which are "The good ones and which are the kikes". Jews are expected to "go into the closet" in respect to their Jewishness. Excuses and harassment, especially 'splainin', have become the new normal.

"Are you now or have you ever been a Zionist or supporter of Israel" is happening in social "justice" spaces, including groups like the GLBT, which really pisses me off, as one can image as I am a member of that minority too! While the left is NOWHERE as extreme or violent, bigotry is still bigotry and shouldn't be waved away as inconsequential.

We will make our way; we always do. Thankfully, we do have some allies, and I hope some of them will pick up the mantle and fight when we can't or are just to worn down. We need them.
